KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Tuesday released former Chairman of Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) Babar Chughtai whom an anti-terrorism court had given in the custody of the paramilitary force for 90-days, source said.

The sources said that Mr Chugtai has been released under schedule fourth of the Protection of Pakistan Ordinance.

Chughtai was suspected of facilitating target killers and the land mafia operating in Karachi.

The Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had termed Chughtai’s arrest an act of vengeance, adding that he had been detained only because he would donate to the party fund.
