KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan in an exclusive interview in Geo News programme "Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath" said it would be the first time in the history of Pakistan that an independent investigation is being conducted into election rigging.

In the exclusive interview Imran Khan said, 2015 will be the year of election which will be transparent.

Khan further said that at least, the Judicial Commission will make sure that next time around free and fair elections will be ensured.

Regarding what was said in Parliament about PTI’s return, he said that to a person like him it didn’t matter, adding that all those who won or lost during the election of 2013, admitted that there was rigging.

Speaking about Pakistan’s involvement in the Yemen conflict, Khan said that he had already warned before not to get involved in America’s war. He added that PTI came back to Parliament to express its reservations regarding Yemen.

The PTI chief went on to say that the Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has made NA-246 a no go area.

He said that he will try and take his wife Reham Khan along tomorrow (Thursday) to visit the area and the inhabitants.

Regarding electioneering in the constituency, he said “we will fight the campaign vigorously, but if we lose we will learn from our mistakes and weaknesses.”

Khan further said that compromises are all part of life, adding that the biggest compromise is having to wed.

He also invited MQM chief Altaf Hussain to campaign for by-election in Mianwali.
