MQM, PTI come face to face in Azizabad's Jinnah Ground

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers chanted slogans against each other when they came face to face at the Jinnah Ground in Azizabad on Tuesday.

According to details, PTI leader Imran Ismail along with supporters paid a visit to Jinnah Ground Azizabad to review preparations for their upcoming public rally on April 19th.

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers chanted slogans against each other when they came face to face at the Jinnah Ground in Azizabad on Tuesday.

According to details, PTI leader Imran Ismail along with supporters paid a visit to Jinnah Ground Azizabad to review preparations for their upcoming public rally on April 19th.

The situation got out of control when according to MQM workers, those accompanying Imran Ismail tore posters of Altaf Hussain and disrespected the Martyrs memorial.

MQM workers also smashed windowpanes of PTI leaders' vehicles, who had to leave the Jinnah Ground shortly after their arrival at the venue of their upcoming rally.

Later addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, PTI candidate Imran Ismail alleged that several party workers were injured due to the hooliganism of MQM activists. They also smashed windowpanes of his car, he added.

Ismail went on to say that he would lodge an FIR over the Jinnah Ground incident.
