MARDAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan Saturday said it was not the aim of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to launch projects like Metro Bus, as he referred to Prime Minister Nawaz Shari’s recent statement in which he said he did not see a glimpse of ‘new Pakistan’ in KP province in two years.

Addressing an inauguration ceremony of computerization of a government department here, the PTI chief said Nawaz Sharif’s vision of new Pakistan revolves around projects like Metro Bus.

He announced that land record of the province would be computerized by 2017.

Imran Khan said the ‘Thana culture’ has been reformed across the province, adding now people’s disputes are being resolved through arbitration in the police stations.

He said it is being planned to monitor the attendance of school teachers through biometric system. “Now vice chancellors of universities would be appointed on merit and non-political basis,” he added.

The PTI Chairman regretted that although Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari had taken turns at holding the reigns of the country for six times, they failed to bring about the much-needed reforms because their decisions were governed by personal interests.
