KARACHI: A private conversation between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Dr Arif Alvi discussing the attack on PTV has been leaked on social media.
During the conversation Arif Alvi informs Imran Khan about the PTV attack and the shutting down of transmission. Imran Khan responds: “That is good, they deserve it.”
“It is all a question of forcing Nawaz to resign,” Imran tells Alvi, adding that there needs to be pressure on Nawaz to resign before the joint session.
Alvi in the conversation informs Imran Khan of trying to reach the MQM and waiting for their response. To this Imran Khan responded that Alvi should keep on trying. “You have to put maximum pressure today for a result tomorrow,” Khans said during the conversation.
Arif Alvi responded to the leaked conversation stating that the voices seemed genuine but the audio was tampered with.
My voice & IK's voice seems genuine.Different words & conversations spliced together.I am staunch supporter of privacy. I never record calls

Even to splice a conversation, 'to mix & match & patch' somebody is recording phone calls without legal authority

??? ?? ???? ??? ??????? There is nothing wrong in what has been presented vis a vis MQM. At time of Dharna we openly requested 1/2
— Dr. Arif Alvi (@ArifAlvi) March 27, 2015
We openly requested all parties including MQM at time of Dharna to join us. See talk shows and newspapers to confirm

Am a stickler for privacy of conversations. I resigned on principle from an NA committee on this issue 1 / 2
— Dr. Arif Alvi (@ArifAlvi) March 27, 2015
I resigned from an NA committee when a huge file of telephone conversations was presentd. For suspects too there must be a judicial sanction
