RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday said that the army remains fully committed to cleanse Pakistan from all kinds of terrorism.

Visiting the newly established National Counter Terrorism Training Centre at Pabbi Hills, the COAS said that counter terrorism operations must continue fearlessly.

General Sharif while commending the first batch of mixed law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) trained by the army said that the army is doing its best to train all LEAs and build their capacity to chase terrorists out of their hideouts whether from urban or remote lands.

The first batch of 500 LEAs completed their anti terror training today, including 200 elite police personnel from provinces, 200 FC/Rangers, and 100 SPD, ANF, and ex PAF.

The COAS went on to say that while the army trains to fight terrorists, coordinated intelligence mechanisms must pre-empt incidents.

He further said that cooperation by masses is also critical in indication of terrorism suspects.
