Three policemen gunned down in Karachi

KARACHI: Three policemen were killed and as many injured on Tuesday in two separate attacks within a span of an hour in the metropolis.

In the first attack, assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on a Police squad car parked near Gul PLaza on MA Jinnah road in Saddar. The indiscriminate firing also damaged vehicles parked near the squad car.

KARACHI: Three policemen were killed and as many injured on Tuesday in two separate attacks within a span of an hour in the metropolis.

In the first attack, assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on a Police squad car parked near Gul PLaza on MA Jinnah road in Saddar. The indiscriminate firing also damaged vehicles parked near the squad car.

According to police officials, three policemen were injured in the attack including an Additional Sub-Inspector (ASI).

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, where two of the injured succumbed to their wounds, the added.

SSP Saddar Town told the media that the armed motorcycle riders fled away after the ambush. SSP South Tariq Dharejo confirmed the incident and the casualties.

In second incident, the attackers opened fire at a motorcycle police-squad patrolling near Pakistan Chowk in the Arambagh area. One policeman was killed in the attack while another was injured.
