ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Pervez Rasheed Saturday said his government was making efforts to clean the mess created by the dictatorship.

“Unfortunately it is the dictatorship which has squashed the norms of morality in the country,” said Pervez Rasheed while talking to media persons following his meeting with Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, the chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F).

The JUI-F chief and Federal Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique, flanked Pervez Rasheed during the media talk.

The Information Minister said he would convey the reservations expressed by the Maulana during today’s meeting to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. “We will try to address the concerns of Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman,” he added.

He said solution to other issues facing the country will also be sought in the coming days.

Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman on the occasion said there is an individual who is trying gain entry to the house by clinging onto the “cow’s tail”. “Why an amendment is being made to the Constitution to allow anyone an entry to the Assembly,” he asked without taking any names.

He said despite being the government’s ally his party has some reservations over the proposed amendment to the Constitution.

The Maulana said he has put his reservations and stance before the Pakistan Muslim League-N ministers.

He said the proposed amendment to the Constitution should have been undertaken earlier.
