KP Assembly adopts resolution against ‘horse trading’

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakthunkhwa Assembly on Friday adopted a unanimous resolution against horse trading in the wake of upcoming Senate elections.

The resolution, passed by the provincial assembly with no members opposing it, says the existing electoral procedure for the Senate polls is tarnishing image of the lawmakers.

The resolution also urged the federal government to take effective measures to keep the political atmosphere apt in the country.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate from Sindh Zafar Ali shah has withdrawn his nomination papers for the March 5 poll.

According to an Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) statement, Mohammad Bakhsh Khaskheli of PML-Q has also taken back his nomination papers for the Senate elections.
