LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain vehemently denounced the attack on an Imamabargah in Islamabad in which three people were killed and several others injured on Wednesday evening.

In a statement issued here, Hussain prayed for the departed souls and expressed his sympathies for the bereaved families.

He also prayed for the speedy recuperation of the people who sustained injuries in the gun-and-suicide-attack.

The MQM Chief demanded of the government to enhance security of mosques, Imambargahs and other worship places in the cities across Pakistan including Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

He said the people should also come forward and ensure vigilance of worship places in their respective areas on self-help basis.
