KARACHI: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) MNA Nabil Gabol said on Tuesday that his differences with the party had now been resolved.

Gabol, who was elected from NA-246 (Karachi) on MQM’s ticket, said he had sent his resignation as MNA to the Rabita Committee some time ago but had not left the party.

Earlier it was reported that the Rabittaa Committee had not accepted Gabol’s resignation. According to sources, Gabol had reservations with the MQM over being marked absent at party meetings without being called to them.

Gabol left the Pakistan Peoples Party to join the MQM on March 13, 2013. Upon joining the MQM he said the PPP was no longer the party of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, therefore, he decided to end his 25-year-long affiliation with it.

‘Will stay in MQM as long as Altaf trusts me’

Speaking during Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada ke Sath on Geo News, the MQM lawmaker said he had been told that he was facing danger from his own party.

“I was told by a key PPP MNA that I am facing danger from my own party, and that there were plans for my assasination, the blame for which will be placed on the PPP,” he told Khanzada Tuesday night.

Gabol declined to name the PPP lawmaker.

The MQM MNA said that he was rarely called to party meeting, and that his image was being tarnished in front of party chief Altaf Hussain.

“Some members of the Rabita Committee were misguiding Altaf Hussain against me. My differences were conveyed to the Rabita Committee, and my reservation were removed in the last fews days,” he said.

“I will stay in MQM as long as Altaf Hussain trusts me,” he said.
