Will have no affiliation with MQM after tomorrow, says Altaf

LONDON: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain said that after tomorrow (Friday) he will no longer have any affiliation with the party.

“My address to Hyderabad University tomorrow will be my last,” Altaf Hussain said in a statement issued from London.

Altaf added that he had never been accepted by the Establishment as he was not a Waderha (feudal).

LONDON: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain said that after tomorrow (Friday) he will no longer have any affiliation with the party.

“My address to Hyderabad University tomorrow will be my last,” Altaf Hussain said in a statement issued from London.

Altaf added that he had never been accepted by the Establishment as he was not a Waderha (feudal).

Altaf Hussain’s statements come in the backdrop of the MQM observing a day of mourning in Sindh against the killing of party worker Sohail Ahmed. Businesses and schools remained closed in several cities of the province including Karachi, Hyberabad and Sukkur.

The body of Sohail Ahmed a unit in-charge of the party in Society area was recovered from Maripur on Wednesday.

In an earlier statement, Altaf Hussain said he holds Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah responsible for the extra-judicial killing of 36 MQM workers.

Hussain further said that while the body of Sohail Ahmed was being dumped in Mochko Goth, the CM Sindh was on a tirade in the Assembly session, terming MQM mourners with four bodies at the CM House an ‘attack’.
