ISLAMABAD: Advisor to Prime Minister on foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that by cancelling dialogues, India has given rise to uncertainty and the threats from the Indian leadership points to a dangerous desire for war.
He said that firing and shelling from across the Line of Control and the Working Boundary without provocation and efforts made by India to change the status of Kashmir all by themselves would further complicate an already volatile situation.
Speaking at the concluding session of the two-day Ideas Conclave hosted by the Jinnah Institute, Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan was willing to continue enduring, unconditional and fruitful negotiations with India but they were the ones to cancel the secretary level talks and now they will have to make the first move to revive the dialogue.
He also said that India’s attitude towards countering terrorism was full of contradictions as on one hand they emphasize the need to put an end to the menace while on the other hand create distractions for Pakistan’s Army engaged in operation Zarb-e-Asb.
