Wali Babar 4th death anniversary; justice yet to be done

KARACHI: Even after the lapse of four years since Geo News reporter Wali Khan Babar was murdered in cold blood, justice is yet to be done.

The convicts of the case, who had been handed down punishments by a special Anti-Terrorist Court, had later filed appeals in higher courts and managed to take undue advantage of the legal procedure.

To erase the traces of their crime, the terrorist had killed 9 important people who could have helped resolve the case while the family members of Wali Babar continue to face hardships for pursuing the case.

Geo News reporter Wali Khan Babar was martyred after receiving multiple bullet wounds as result of firing from point-blank range by the culprits on January 13, 2011 in Liaquatabad area on his way back home from office.

The murder had been planned so sophisticatedly that the mystery surrounding it could have never been resolved. But, it was the registration number of the criminals’ vehicle that led to their exposure and punishment by an Anti-Terrorism Court.
