ISLAMABAD: Leaders of all various religious parties met on Thursday under the chairmanship of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to discuss the consequences of the 21st amendment as well as the Army Act.

The JUI-F Chief talking to media following the meeting said that although all parties that took part in the meeting severely denounced the Peshawar tragedy, at the same time they felt that the newly adopted amendments were a suicide attack on democracy.

He went on to say that their stance against terrorism must be understood and that the country cannot afford a one-sided attitude.

He said that the new law actually allows some terrorists to escape and stay safe instead of the other way around.

Fazl further said that the all Parliamentarians actually thought the same as Senator Raza Rabbani.

The JUI-F Chief said that the world has not been able to define what encompasses terrorism and extremism and that the religious parties in the country demand that it is defined to them.
