Four death row convicts acquitted by LHC

RAWALPINDI: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on Monday acquitted four death row convicts.

Faisal Hameed, Tahir Hussain, Habibullah and Hafiz Naseer had been awarded the death penalty in the Imambargah attack case by the Anti-Terrorism Court. The accused had challenged the decision in the LHC Rawalpindi bench.

The four had been accused of involvement in the 2002 suicide

RAWALPINDI: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on Monday acquitted four death row convicts.

Faisal Hameed, Tahir Hussain, Habibullah and Hafiz Naseer had been awarded the death penalty in the Imambargah attack case by the Anti-Terrorism Court. The accused had challenged the decision in the LHC Rawalpindi bench.

The four had been accused of involvement in the 2002 suicide attack at the Shahnajaf Imamabargah in Rawalpindi.

Following the attack at the Army Public School in Peshawar, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had approved lifting of the moratorium on the death penalty.
