‘Sindh police has spent Rs100m on employees’ welfare this year’
The Sindh Police have spent more than Rs100 million on account of welfare and rehabilitation of its employees in the current financial year so far.
Sindh Additional Inspector General Welfare Dr Muhammad Rizwan Ahmed Khan told this to Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Syed Kaleem Imam in a report here on Sunday. The AIG Welfare told the provincial police chief that a total Rs101,769,090 had been transferred online to police officials in 2019 so far. It includes transfers of Rs77,177,500 to the accounts of the widows of 5,413 police officials and Rs1,730,000 for the funerals of 41 deceased police employees to their heirs, said a press release.
Moreover, 155 employees were paid Rs2,423,590 on account of the retirement grant, and 54 employees were provided Rs1,960,000 as marriage grant for weddings of their children. The AIG said four employees were paid Rs13,450,000 for medical treatment, and three police officials who were injured on duty were given Rs450,000 for treatment. A police official was provided Rs433,000 as a scholarship of his child. According to the report, for the families of the martyred police officials and other policemen who passed away on duty, Rs16,250,000 were transferred online to their accounts.
