Who wore it best?

With Bilal Lashari’s sophomore directorial project, The Legend of Maula Jatt, having released in the past week, here’s looking at who wore the beard best in Pakistani cinema.

Who wore it best?

If you’re excited about the magnum opus The Legend of Maula Jatt by Bilal Lashari, you’re not alone. What is clear, though, is that elaborate
looks were designed for each character. So here’s a quick look at who wore the beard best in the world of Pakistani cinema in modern times.

Fawad Khan in The Legend of Maula Jatt

Carrying off a beard is not exactly a new game for Fawad Khan. During the course of his career, the actor has sported a variety of looks in movies such as Khuda Kay Liye, Khoobsurat, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

For The Legend of Maula Jatt, Fawad has gone all out with long hair that seems similar to a shag cut which has been kept messed up by design and a winter beard. To be honest, we prefer the bearded look over the clean shaven look any day.

Hamza Ali Abbasi in The Legend of Maula Jatt

Like Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi also belongs to the category of actors with chiseled good looks.

However, Hamza Ali Abbasi has never looked this ferocious and part of it has to do with what he looks like in the film – a full man bun and a winter beard lending the overall look exactly what Noori Natt needed to be.

Hamza Khawaja
in Kamli

Who wore it best?

When it comes to wearing a beard and long hair on the big screen and looking good doing it, Hamza Khawaja gets top points. He made his big screen debut with Sarmad Khoosat’s Kamli, and throughout the film he sported wavy and unkempt long hair (like Jon Snow’s character from Game of Thrones) with a Garibaldiesque beard. At certain moments in the film, he was also sporting a man bun. The actor did make his mark through his acting as much as he did with his look.

Umair Jaswal
in Yalghaar

Who wore it best?

Most people recognize Umair Jaswal with a ferocious beard, akin to the winter beard, but he does lose marks in this scenario because he has always carried a shorter haircut than any of the aforementioned actors onscreen. From acting in Sarmad Khoosat’s Mor Mahal where he did sport a winter beard to the big screen venture Yalghaar, he does come close. Perhaps it was the demand of his character that required him to trim his winter beard down to the garibaldi beard, seen in an image here with Shaan Shahid.
