The stars brought glamour to the Emmys red carpet earlier this week, as the acting fraternity gathered to honour the best in television. There was no shortage of stunning gowns and elegant frocks as most celebrities went for classic style over bold or daring ensembles. Here are some of our favourite looks from television’s biggest night…
Zendaya
Zendaya made history at this year’s Emmys with her second win for teen drama Euphoria, becoming the youngest actress to receive the lead actress award twice, and she did so while wearing a custom-made Valentino ball gown. She paired the dramatic black strapless dress with a simple but gorgeous Bulgari diamond necklace for a timeless look.
Hannah Waddingham
The Ted Lasso actress was effortlessly chic in a strapless pink Dolce & Gabbana dress with an embellished corset and tulle skirt. And reason number 9375218 to love the delightful British actress: she wore a pair of bedazzled D&G platform sneakers underneath her floor-length outfit! We always knew she was a woman after our own heart…
Elle Fanning
Nominated for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series award for her performance in the historical black comedy The Great, Elle Fanning opted for a gown by Sharon Long – the costume designer of the aforementioned show – that contrasted black with pink and was a nod to old Hollywood glam.
Amanda Seyfried
Amanda Seyfried – who took home a coveted acting trophy for her terrific lead performance in the limited series The Dropout – donned a strapless, sequined Armani Prive mermaid gown, accessorized with Cartier drop earrings.
Angela Bassett
Angela Bassett looked stunning in yellow at this year’s Emmys. Her strapless Dolce & Gabbana dress that featured a sash draped over one shoulder also had a sequined bodice and a satin skirt. She paired her gown with matching peep-toe heals and a boombox purse, and her vibrant look stood out on the red carpet.
