n its relentless effort to create a strong foot-hold in the growing Pakistani music market, Spotify is leaving no stone unturned.

Continuing its Equal Pakistan movement, Spotify has announced Zoha Zuberi as their latest ambassador for the month of June.
Past ambassadors include Hadiqa Kiani (May), Mehak Ali (April) and Arooj Aftab (March).

The focus of the initiative is to highlight women who are revolutionizing the industry. As Zoha Zuberi got a snazzy billboard in NYC’s Time Square, she is promoting the song ‘I Rather’. As part of the campaign, she is being promoted by Spotify in a myriad of ways via their playlists. One major example is how she is featured in Spotify’s Global Playlist “alongside artists from Poland, Morocco and Peru.”

The ambassador for June, Zoha is an independent artist who has been working for the last five years in Islamabad as her base. Her music is popular in Pakistan as well as Canada, Bangladesh and the United States. Spotify should increase her markets.

Speaking about her experience of being Equal Pakistan’s June Ambassador, Zoha noted how it was overwhelming and brought more than a sense of gratification.

“What this really means to me is far more than just a sense of personal achieve-ment. It is for me and the woman of Pakistan a step into the spotlight. For all of us to express ourselves and take our place in the music scene.”

Spotify has also invested in three nationwide TVCs via its campaign, ‘Jaisa Mood Waisi Dhun’ featuring music from Strings (‘Sajni’) and Coke Studio 14 (‘Phir Milenge’ by Faisal Kapadia x Young Stunners) and (‘Peechay Hutt’ by Hasan Raheem, Justin Bibis and Talal Qureshi). Each TVC is backed by a specific theme. Maheen Sabeeh
