Artists rally for Imran Khan

With a vote of no-confidence (in the PM) tabled until April 4, things in the political arena are becoming murkier at the moment. One way or another, we should have a resolution in the coming days.

However, when it comes to Pakistan’s mainstream artist community, their faith in Imran Khan is as unwavering as it was during his campaigning days. His popularity remains unchallenged as far as the artist community at large is concerned.

While multi-faceted Ahmed Ali Butt and singer Abrar ul Haq were present at an Imran Khan rally, others including Humayun Saeed wrote on social media, “Have been a fan of Imran Khan since he was a sportsman and still admirer of his leadership. I wish and pray that he completes his tenure. May Allah bless him.”

On a similar note, in support of Khan, Saba Qamar noted, “This is not about one person, this is about Pakistan. May Allah (S.W.T) bless our Prime Minister Imran Khan with success. Ameen”

Imran Khan has also been backed by industry names including Ali Zafar, Imran Abbas, Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar, Hina Khwaja Bayat, Shaan Shahid, Samina Peerzada, Haroon Shahid, Najam Shiraz, Rohail Hyatt, Bilal Maqsood, Adnan Siddiqui, Annie Khalid, Mahira Khan, Aimen Khan and Munib Butt.

Some artists are not in support of Imran Khan such as Jawad Ahmad and Anwar Maqsood. But, by and large, the performing arts community from music to actors still believe in the politician and his ability to turn the country around from corruption. They genuinely believe he is the man who can tackle the many problems Pakistan is facing such as economic instability (among others) as its leader.
