All in the Mind asks hard scientific questions about the human mind in a quest to learn more, and does so by featuring a panel of experts on every episode, depending on the subject at hand.

With a dime-a-dozen podcasts on every subject and in every voice, it isn’t always possible to find the right podcast to dedicate your time to. After all, consumers do not have hours to spare – particularly those who are denizens of urban cities. Add to it, issues pertaining to electricity which in turn takes away the internet, the easiest way is to download your favourite podcasts (the one you had been looking for as soon as an episode airs) for those powerless hours.

One podcast – which we follow and think you should follow too – is called All in the Mind with Sana Qadar. You may have guessed that it is about the mystery that is the human brain, but what makes these episodes so fascinating is how the subject is changed while staying within the realm of the human mind.

The good news is that, apart from being available on Apple Podcasts, you can also find it on ABC.NET.AU, making it accessible to people who do or do not possess an Apple device.

With several podcasts dedicated to the brain and the mind, the reason to listen is simple: learning. Man is still learning about the human mind, and this website makes it possible for an average person to learn from the scientific enquiry still being conducted by experts.

Aired weekly with new subjects, one episode’s synopsis notes: “You’ve heard of adrenaline, oxytocin and cortisol, but what about glutamate and GABA? And how much do you really know about the chemicals coursing through your brain? On All in the Mind this week, we take a whistle stop tour through your brain to learn how various chemicals influence our behaviour.”

Apart from presenter Sana Qadar, guests are invited to speak on respective issues. For the aforementioned episode, Ginny Smith, author of Overloaded: How Every Aspect of Your Life is Influenced by Your Brain Chemicals as well as Swa Kaushik of Brain Tour Guide were among guests who spoke on the matter.

A previous episode focused on postpartum psychosis because even though having a child is a joyous occasion, postpartum disorders are just as much a reality, one we tend to run away from and shove under the rug. Noted the synopsis, “…for many women, it can be a dark time. We know one in six suffer postpartum depression, but there’s another condition that affects women during this period that you may not have heard of. It’s called post-partum psychosis. It’s rare, but for those who get it, it can be utterly debilitating.”

Not shooting from the hip on such a sensitive subject, All in the Mind – ABC Radio National books guests such as Gabrielle Micallef and Andrew Micallef and Dr Rebecca Hill, Psychiatrist, Medical Unit Head, Adelaide.

Other episodes include The damage done by emotionally immature parents (and how to heal), Does self-help ... help? and many other questions with each episode marked by experts in the field. If you’re looking for a hint into larger psychological themes that make us who we are as adults and developing emotional intelligence by really listening, All in the Mind is worth looking into.
