Lahore-based designer Ali Xeeshan is known for his theatrical designs and there is no denying that his dramatic flair is his USP. One thing is for sure that the designer’s eccentricity isn’t just limited to his designs, his fashion presentations are equally theatrical and even his personal dressing is as elaborate as his creations.

Ali Xeeshan’s latest social media campaign, unveiling his latest wedding couture collection called ‘Ladies Master’, is a testament to just that. His campaign, a fashion video, celebrating the “people behind the curtains,” features an army of tailors wearing all-white outfits, a marching band and two models donning Xeeshan’s stunning bridal ensembles.

The collection is a tribute to the craftsmen who help bring the designer’s vision to life. Taking to Instagram, Ali Xeeshan shared a video with a caption stating: “Ladies master, a collection celebrating people behind the curtains – Our Masters, our Army!!”

The fashion video is surely a unique concept and his Wedding Couture Collection 2021 is as grand and boisterous as ever.

BRIT Awards 2022 to
introduce gender-neutral categories

NEWS OF THE WEEK! Sana Javed and Feroze Khan share their first looks from Ay Musht e Khaak

Every year the biggest names in the music industry come together for the BRIT Awards to honour the best British and international offerings. However, quite recently it was announced that the awards ceremony, slated to take place on February 8, 2022, will not have separate categories for male and female artists. Instead, the BRIT Awards will be introducing gender-neutral awards for local and international artists, who will now be nominated in the categories for artist of the year or international artist of the year at the annual ceremony.

In a statement released by the organizers, Tom March, the award ceremony’s new chair and co-president of Polydor Records, stated, “It is important that the BRITs continue to evolve and aim to be as inclusive as possible. It feels completely the right time to celebrate the achievements of artists for the music that they create, and the work that they do, irrespective of gender.”

While British comedian Mo Gilligan will host the 2022 awards ceremony, the show will also feature four new awards, which will all be decided by public voting – alternative/rock act; hip hop/grime/rap act; dance act and pop/R’n’B act.

According to Geoff Taylor, the chief executive of the British Phonographic Industry and BRIT Awards, “The BRIT Awards are not just a celebration of British music, they are a reflection of British culture.” He also shared that the changes being made “should mean more new fans, more engagement and a bigger global platform than ever for our amazing artists.”

Following the footsteps of other awards shows that have removed gender classifications, this is definitely the best way forward and we are all for it!
