If nothing will convince you to get out of your ‘jams and subsequently out of your house, perhaps the new cinematic outing by Filmwala Pictures will convince you!

With the pandemic formerly and always known as COVID-19 still a very real and present threat, humans are trying to find whatever little morsel of pleasure and entertainment they can.

As we head into the third year of the global endemic, lots of things we previously took for granted are now things we look upon as rare treats. You wouldn’t at least for some time talk smack about the lousy seats at Cinepax and the rats in the popcorn at miscellaneous movie theatres, since you haven’t really watched a movie at the theatre in about two years. No, instead you will close your eyes, recline on that dodgy seat, put up with the inevitable dude behind you kicking the back of your chair, and think of how grateful you are to be back in business.

To that end, the first movie to hit theatres in Pakistan for the first time in forever, Khel Khel Mein arrives on a screen near you on November 19, 2021.

We have all watched the trailer and know that Sajal Aly, Bilal Abbas and Manzar Sehbai are part of the cast, but what’s most exciting is the fact that Fizza Ali Meerza and Nabeel Qureshi are the force behind this film.

Known for the various comedies of errors they have produced over the years, including Namaloom Afraad 1 & 2, Actor In Law, and Loadwedding, the Filmwala team name is synonymous with stories that are grounded in reality but explore the most outrageous scenario the reality could take place in.

The trailer shows the tensions between Bangladesh and Pakistan explored in a very creative manner, and we wonder if this will be a more serious side to Filmwala than we have ever seen before.

“I mean, there is a style, our style, and you have to kind of expect it,” says Nabeel Qureshi.

To really put a fine point on what the spirit of the moment, when the team was probed about the storyline and what to expect, Fizza Ali Meerza simply interjected and said, “do saal se koi movie nahi aayi, aap ticket khareeden aur cinema mein jaa ke dekhein.”
