Cheap, chic, casual – what can’t a t-shirt be, apart from collared?
It’s time we all made like golf and teed ourselves into style, or some less dorky version of this sentiment. Anyway, you want tees, we got recs - it’s like we are a match made in heaven!
So why tees? Yes they are an absolute staple in any wardrobe but we feel that we sometimes just reserve them for lounging at home, or as part of PJs, which makes us completely forget that t-shirts are actually stylish. Or can be. Please don’t wear something with a cutesy quote like, ‘If you can’t handle me at my worst, you don’t deserve me at my best’, if you’re a girl, and expect us to applaud. Or, you know, ‘No fat chicks’ if you’re a dude. Just stop with the slogan t-shirts. It’s not 2006 anymore, get over it. We will eat these words in a little while. You’ll see why.
The thing with t-shirts is that they can be really lovely for a casual grocery trip or a hang with the girls, and they can be accessorized to take you to a slightly more sophisticated event too. So first, just get your basics in and figure out where you can wear what.
The basic tee
We really like Reverb Universe’s tees. They have all the basic neutrals, and you can order them separately, in a set of two, three, or more. The t-shirts may seem a little like they would collapse after one wash, but they hold up better than expected. The sizes run a little bigger than the measurements stated, so try your size and a size down when you order for the first time. The shirts fall in a way that the looseness isn’t terrible, but the length may or may not be to your liking. Absolute value for money, and they run sales and deals too.
The funky tee
If you like your shirts to sport images that mean something only to you and your inner circle, maybe, then Republic Outfits has some cool graphic tees that are nice. As you may have guessed, we’re not much for clothes with offbeat sayings on them, but if that’s what you need in your day, then they’ve got those too.
The fabric of the t-shirts is quite decent and the print quality looks good as well. Priced just bit higher than Reverb, Republic Outfits tees can make a good addition to your casual wardrobe.
The quirky tee
Here we are, eating our words. Lahori Ink does crazy graphic tees with Punjabi slogans on them. These are the ones you want to wear on a day you mean business but also don’t want to scare too many people off. The designs are excellent, and the materials used are as luxe as a t-shirt’s material can be for the price (approximately Rs 1500 and up).
Make a statement with a Lahori Ink t-shirt, any day of the week, style it just right, and you could even wear it to work!
