Julianna Margulies, known for The Good Wife and ER, has joined the cast of Apple TV’s The Morning Show. Though available on Apple’s streaming service, the platform is still not available to users in Pakistan. Still, when there is a will, there is a way to find it – online. As for the series, in its upcoming season, TMS, which is co-produced by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, will also feature Julianna Marguiles in addition to the two stars.
The drama series, taking its cue from #MeToo and #TimesUp movement incorporates the very question of complicity by ignorance with great flair. Set to premiere this September, The Morning Show cast also includes Billy Crudup, who won an Emmy for his performance in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (2020).
The thrilling ensemble cast of the series - that sheds light on a morning show behind the cameras – also includes the likes of Steve Carell, Jack Davenport and Nestor Carbonell in pivotal roles.
The timing of the new season couldn’t be better since the Weinsten case was followed by stories about the likes of Jeffrey Epstein. The two started an avalanche about those in positions of power creating a toxic environment on set and/or sexual and improper conduct across films and particularly television.
To see Rachel (Jennifer Aniston from Friends) and Jill (Reese Witherspoon, guest star on Friends) together after several decades in this drama series that is mirroring a semblance of reality is an added bonus. Emmys, critical and commercial nods and a year later, The Morning Show is very much in demand as it was when news first broke about the production.
