While we’ve eagerly been waiting to see Mahira Khan on the big screen for quite some time now, recently the Superstar actress revealed via her social media that she is all set to don the producer’s hat with the upcoming web-series, titled Baarwan Khiladi. The web-series, as the title suggests, is based on Pakistan’s favourite sport – cricket.

Mahira took to Instagram and shared that she is venturing into production under SoulFry Films with Nina Kashif, who’s produced a fair number of serials through her impressive career.

“There is a story behind everything and I live for stories – hearing them and telling them,” read her post. “I’m nervous and excited to share with all of you my first venture into production. I would have no one better to be my co-pilot in this trip with me other than Nina Kashif.”

She further went on to share that Baarwan Khiladi is, “a coming of age story set against the backdrop of the OG of all games – Cricket. A story about friendships, relationships, unity, failure, success, love and courage. A small peak into a labour of love and hard work... from all of us to all of you.”

The web-series has been written by Shahid Dogar, while it will see Adnan Sarwar as the director. In a recent interview with an online portal, Sarwar shared that he couldn’t have asked for better producers than Mahira and Nina. He further said that SoulFry Films is an exciting new addition to the film, TV and OTT scene and that he believes they’ve made something special to share it with the rest of the world.

Baarwan Khiladi will feature musician Danyal Zafar and Kinza Hashmi in lead roles, while it also stars digital content creators Shaveer Jafry and Khaqan Shahnawaz among others. This is the first originally produced web-series for Tapmad TV, a local over-the-top (OTT) platform that offers HD Live streaming, VOD, movies, sports and educational content.

We just can’t wait to see what the superstar has to offer.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3’s OST is a soulful treat

Teasers, trailers and especially the OST of drama serial Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 certainly has gotten everyone intrigued.

Written by Hashim Nadeem, Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 is directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain, who has dramas Do Bol and Yaariyan to his credit. Produced under the banner of Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi’s 7th Sky Entertainment, the drama series features Feroze Khan and Iqra Aziz in lead roles and revolves around Farhad and Mahi, who are on a journey of finding true love.

Falling into the realm of romance and spirituality, the story has a strong spiritual angle to it and the original soundtrack is perfectly in sync with the theme of the series. Music maestro and renowned qawwal Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has rendered his powerful vocals along with Nish Asher. The lyrics have been written by Qamar Nashad and composed by Naveed Nashad.

With his strong range and ragas, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan provides a soulful vibe to the OST, which received more than one million hits after 15 hours of its release. In fact, the official soundtrack has now created a new record, hitting over 4 million views on YouTube till date.

Coming back to the story, Farhad (essayed by Feroze Khan) and Mahi (Iqra Aziz) belong to different backgrounds. Mahi comes from an influential family, Farhad on the other hand belongs to a small town; he falls head over heels for Mahi and soon forsakes everything for her. In order to win Mahi’s heart, Farhad finds himself forming a special bond with his creator and becomes a devotee of love.

Besides Iqra Aziz and Feroze Khan, the star-studded cast includes Junaid Khan, Jawed Sheikh, Hina Khawaja Bayat, Tooba Siddiqui, Sunita Marshall, Rubina Ashraf, Asma Abbas, Usman Peerzada and Zain Baig.
