In old neighbourhoods of Lahore, as well as the suburbs, it’s life as usual. You don’t necessarily witness an aberration from the norm, or a deviation from the routine. Every day is the same as always, and yet it offers something new every time. Though, that ‘new’ would also be only a continuation of the familiar and the similar; and there is no room for shock and awe. Or, is there any? As the common man goes about his daily chores and the womenfolk run home errands, some even help in the fields, it’s as if they will do what they’ve got to do, come what may.
