Actress Rabab Hashim shares her beauty routine as well as what she stashes in her makeup bag.

Rabab Hashim, who started her career at the age of 10 with a kid’s program, has since then built a career on TV and has a number of memorable performances to her credit. Some of her drama serials include Ishqaaway, Piya Mann Bhae, Main Maa Nahi Banna Chahti, Kamzarf and Mere Mohsin among many others.

Currently Rabab Hashim, who has done her BBA (Hons.) with a major in Marketing and has also received a diploma in theatre arts from the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA), is appearing in new drama serial, Qarar. The drama serial also features Mikaal Zulfiqar, Sanam Jung, Muneeb Butt and Ali Safina in key roles.

To know the secret behind the actress’ smooth, glowing skin we caught up with Rabab who reveals her beauty routine and her go-to products.

All about skincare

Speaking of her skincare regime, Rabab shares, “I don’t particularly follow a skincare routine as such, but after using a good cleanser and applying moisturizer and SPF in the morning, I’m good to go.”

The actress further shares that her night time routine is almost the same as her morning regime, the only difference is that she just skips the SPF and uses a hydrating serum instead. “I think keeping it simple is the key and I don’t like to overwhelm my skin with too many products,” the 28-year old stresses.

On the secret behind her glowing skin, she says, “Given the nature of my job, I have to put on makeup almost every day, so my skin isn’t always smooth and glowy. I just make sure I drink a lot of water, eat healthy and ALWAYS take off my makeup before going to bed.”

While the Qarar actress admits that she has done a fair share of experimentation with desi totkas and home remedies while growing up, now she doesn’t really find the time to indulge in all that. “When it comes to skincare, I just try to steer clear of products that have fragrance and alcohol. Also, I am really fond of aloe vera gel and try to use it as much as I can,” she adds.

When asked which beauty treatments she missed getting done when there was no access to salons during lockdown, she says that she really missed her spa visits. “In fact, my biggest beauty indulgence is going to the spa. A good spa day can prove to be really beneficial for both your mind and body. Sadly, Covid-19 is not over yet and we have to be really careful when going for any treatment,” she shares, adding that during the lockdown, she definitely had plenty of time to invest in self-care and did a lot of cycling as well.

Hair care regime

When it comes to her hair care routine, Rabab reveals that it is her mother who is always reminding her to oil her hair. “Other than oiling my hair on a regular basis, there isn’t anything particular that I do.”

Signature beauty look

Rabab is not too fond of wearing lots of makeup when she is not in front of the camera. “Having said that, I make it a point to moisturize my skin, use a sunscreen and a hydrating serum regularly. So you can say that these are my beauty essentials.”

Talking about her signature beauty look, the actress reveals, “I think my signature makeup look is natural and bronzy. As for my hair, it depends on the kind of day my hair is having.”

Rabab’s makeup bag  is full of...

“To be honest, I’m really big on lip colours and my makeup bag is full of lipsticks. You will find a Huda Beauty lipstick and there is another one by Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) and many, many more.”

Beauty trends

As for beauty trends that she loves and trends that she would never go for, the model and actress shares, “Open hair with a more natural makeup look is my all-time favourite beauty trend. And a beauty trend that I will never go for has to be the shimmery, frosted lipstick look.”

Favourite cosmetics

“MAC is hands down my favourite cosmetic brand. Some of the beauty products that I can’t live without include my moisturizer, sunscreen, hydrating serum, primer and a good quality sheet mask,” she says, adding that she is obsessed with perfumes and Wild Bluebell by Jo Malone is her favourite one.

Makeup tips

We asked Rabab about some of the makeup tips and tricks that she has learnt over the years, to which she shared: “One of the best tips that I have learnt is to spray makeup fixer on the brush before applying your highlighter. The result is that extra, intense shine that gives you a heavenly glow,” she concludes.
