Events in Lahore this week

Democracy 2020 Youth Film Challenge Awards Screening shall be held online on September 10 at 7pm.

Hosted by the Civic Life Project in partnership with JusticeAid, the event features works by filmmakers, aged 15-25. These films look critically at our present-day issues such as climate change, immigration, gun violence and racism.

The event will only showcase the winning films. Each screening shall follow the announcement of the winner.

Event hosts include Anatola Araba, an internationally known film and visual artist, and Patricia Duff, founder of The Common Good, a nonprofit that brings together major policy leaders to speak candidly on important issues of the day.

A performance by Emily Chamberlain, a professional dancer and choreographer, is also expected to be a part of the event.

Socially distanced art classes continue on Sundays at the House of NANNAs for limited attendance with masks. Timings: 11am to 2pm.

Drawing boards and benches are provided. Bring your own lunch and some soap cakes for the needy.

The classes are held under the tutelage of senior artist and conservationist Dr Ajaz Anwar.
