Events in Lahore this week

Pakistan’s Single National Curriculum: A Step Forward or Backward? an online event, hosted by Afkar e Taza ThinkFest, shall be held on ThinkFestPakistan’s Facebook page, on Sunday (today).

Timing: 7pm-8pm.

The education ministry is striving to introduce a single national curriculum, while the Punjab government has brought in key reforms. The said event will initiate discussion on the nature of these reforms and their likely impact on education and society in Pakistan. Eminent academic Prof Pervez Hoodbhoy will be in conversation with Dr Mariam Chughtai, a member of the National Curriculum Council and an assistant professor at the School of Education at LUMS, to discuss these issues. Activist Sehar Tariq will moderate the talk.

The participants must send in their questions in advance.

Socially distanced art classes continue on Sundays at the House of NANNAs for limited attendance with masks.

Timings: 11am to 2pm.

Drawing boards and benches are provided. Bring your own lunch and some soap cakes for the needy.

The classes are held under the tutelage of senior artist and conservationist Dr Ajaz Anwar.
