The streets are hauntingly quiet. The parks are deserted. The marketplaces is abandoned. There aren’t any happy crowds to be seen, just no one to enjoy an evening out. The few spotted on the roads seem to ‘wear their fear’ along with their safety masks and hand gloves. They are visibly in some mad rush— apparently to vanish into the safety of their homes before some ominous being catches up with them… That’s what the city looks like in its first week of the coronavirus lockdown. It breaks your heart. It makes you wonder where it will go from here. Will it ever return to its former ‘alive’ self? Perhaps, while the morning birds sing their songs of freedom, the hope shouldn’t die.
