Ali Sethi, live in concert
A concert, presented by Salt Arts titled Chandni Raat featuring Ali Sethi, took place this past week at the Avari Towers Hotel, Karachi. With the theme of the night being red, Ali brought just the right kind of feel to it with his voice. The singer opened the show with ‘Kithay Nain Na Jorin’ and then went on to perform ‘Chandni Raat’, ‘Gulon Main Rang,’ ‘Chan Kithan’, ‘Tinak Dhin’, and ‘Akhiyan Udeek Dian’ among many others.
Karachi Literature Festival (KLF) 2020
The 11th edition of Karachi Literature Festival (KLF) 2020, organised by the Oxford University Press (OUP), came to an end last week at the iconic Beach Luxury Hotel, Karachi. The three-day fest featured literary discussions, animated debates, book launches, readings, poetry recitals and presentations. There were readings by Zia Mohyeddin and a talk by Javed Jabbar on Mapping Pakistan’s cultural evolution over the past 72
years. Apart from this, Saqib Malik, Faysal Qureshi, Sheheryar Munawar, Bee Gul and Adnan Siddiqui were part of a panel discussion called Pakistani Cinema in the Twenty First Century.
Velo Pakistan celebrates Leap Year Party
Last week was all about celebrating that one extra day in the month of February which comes every four years. Velo Pakistan hosted an evening shindig in Karachi, where celebrities such as Sheheryar Munawar, Anoushay Ashraf, Sarwat Gilani, Ayesha Omar, Hajra Yamin, Tapu Javeri and others were in attendance. Moreover, international DJ Illyus & Barrientos as well as homeboy DJ/Producer Turhan James made the night extra special with their unique sets respectively.
