March 1, 2020

Instep selects five trendy looks from the L’Oreal Professionnel hair fashion tour that took place in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

When a new season rolls in, it’s out with the old and in with the new; be it updating our wardrobes or going for a trendy beauty regime. As for hair, one also gets the urge to go for an impressive chop or a change in styling technique. However, if you instantly want to liven up your look, experimenting with trendy hues is the way to go. An exceptionally great hair shade can certainly elevate your overall look and, with the current wave of hair-colour innovation, you can definitely breathe fresh life into your current hair shade.

Recently L’Oreal Professionnel, one of world’s leading professional hair brands, organised the first and biggest hair fashion tour in Pakistan. At the event renowned international Ambassador Tarek Rizk from Lebanon introduced the ‘La French Philosophy: Art of Hair colouring’ to more than 600 hair stylists and partner salons. Apart from this, the beauty brand also unveiled the new Majirel Glow, a new hair colouration range that gives neutralized finish and extreme luminosity.

From sun kissed balayage to ombre, here are five of our favourite looks from the show…

From blond to ‘bronde’

If you’re having difficulty deciding whether to go for light blonde shades or a darker brunette, this season get the best of both worlds. It is quite simple; just blend the two hues together to create the ‘bronde’. For the La French Philosophy hair show, Tarek Rizk used Majirel High-Lift in beige and swirled in brown tones to achieve the perfect look. It’s on the darker side, and has a glorious shine.

Sun kissed balayage

By now we know that balayage, a freehand hair dying technique, is a celeb favourite and a great way to get natural-looking highlights. In fact, a well-done balayage lends some serious multi-tonal character to mid-length hair and ultra-long locks. The renowned hairstylist went with Majireal Cool Cover to create the perfect sun kissed balayage. The ideal way to style your strands, the lighter-colored layers open up the face and add dimension to longer locks.

Very berry ombre

Sizzle this season with berry ombre hair colour, which is one of the biggest hair colour trends. The contrast between dark hair and berry tones is ideal for all skin tones. While balayage is characterized by intermittent highlights dispersed throughout the hair, almost like subtle strokes of paint, ombre hair starts off dark and transitions to a lighter shade. Using Maji Contrast rouge, Rizk created this gorgeous ombre hue. Weaving the berry hue into the bottom of the hair delivers colour that’s unique and trendy.

Subtle French balayage

Balayage has been around for a while, but this timeless technique is creeping its way back into being one of the most popular hair colour requests in salons today. If you wish to try something French this season, all you have to do is add a sweep of style to your look with the chic French balayage. This technique is all about leaving lots of negative space to achieve that ultimate soft and effortless balayage. According to Rizk, for this look he went with a platinum, ammonia free Majirel glow.

Merlot and caramel highlights

If you are obsessed with burgundy hues, this season add some soft merlot tones to your tresses. Ideal for spring, merlot is a deep purplish red tone, which shares the same blue undertones as berry, burgundy, and plum. Tarek Rizk blended caramel colour with merlot (using the multi tech powder, Majirel Glow range) to achieve a gorgeous hair colour. Not quite red and not quite purple, the glistening strands of colour definitely looks enchanting and stylish.
