Flash Your Style! Trending this week: The White Feast

Nomi Ansari’s annual White Feast or #whitefeast, as was trending on social media through the week, was understandably the talk of the town. While fashion comes to life through Ramazan - festive collections designed for suhoors, iftaars and then the Eid holidays make their way to our calendars almost every day - it’s the presence of the creme of the fashion and entertainment industry that came together for this that had people excited. The White Feast is a
tradition several years old but has now become a ‘thing’ which people look forward to. Hosted by the Ansari siblings, it’s delightful to see friends and family get together and fraternize. Needless to say, despite the fantabulous spread it’s the photo opportunities that get people most excited.

Fouzia Aman, Ayesha Omar and Sadaf Kanwal

Supermodels Fouzia Aman and Sadaf Kanwal looked cool and poised despite the balmy weather while Ayesha Omar - who’s returning to screens with a new season of Bulbulay - looked lovely in a traditional white gharara ensemble.

Nomi with Nabeel Zuberi, Ali Rehman Khan, Hania Aamir and Asim Azhar

It was an evening for TV stars to shine bright in their popularity. Nabeel Zuberi, nominated for Best Emerging Talent, TV for Suno Chanda, basked in its limelight; Ali Rehman Khan agreed that his character in the ongoing Khas is more dark than white and Hania Aamir, who’s nailing her character Daneen, in Ana, took compliments with humility. She came with Asim Azhar and the two looked good together.

The Fashion Squad

(L-R) Mushk Kaleem, LSA nominee for Best Emerging Talent, model; Tabesh Khoja, Fouzia Aman, Nomi Ansari, model turned actor Omar Shehzad and Akbar Ali with (seated) the multi-talented Nadia Hussain.

Nomi Ansari with Yasir Hussain and Iqra Aziz

A powerhouse of talent, Iqra Aziz wore a white tunic with trousers and a voluminous organza dupatta on her arms. She came with Yasir who’s recently been under fire for his political incorrectness. We had a good discussion on the subject and have to agree that half our popular comedians would not have survived today, with the way things have become. We also think celebrities need to step back from being social media sensations all the time. Sometimes it would be better to pick up the phone and complain to friends rather than tweet their feelings to the world.

Men in Black

Asad ul Haq and Tapu Javeri obviously either didn’t get the memo or just refused to step out of their signature black. Seen here with Zara Tareen, Tooba Siddiqui, Nomi Ansari, Azfer Rehman, Wardha Saleem and Nubain Ali … all of whom conformed.
