Flash Your Style

If one flips through the entertainment news, it seems like nothing outside the Met Gala took place last week. Fashion’s Oscars had everyone talking and glued to their screens waiting to see what their favorites came out wearing. But other notable appearances were made in places besides the Gala in New York. There were pregnancy announcements done in style, the royal baby’s first appearance and Pakistani celebrity sightings in London.

Wajahat Rauf, Mehwish Hayat and Azfar Rahman

The Mehwish Hayat and Azfar Rahman duo is to appear in an upcoming rom-com Chhalawa, releasing on Eid ul Fitr. As part of their promotions, they were at the BBC head office in London with the film’s director Wajahat Rauf. Mehwish wore a black sweater dress with a leather jacket and boots while Azfar wore a denim on denim look. Both were stylistically safe with their choices, but appropriate for an interview at the BBC.

Sadaf Kanwal

Sadaf made it to London for the Riwayat show this week. The model has recently been attracting bad press for her unpopular opinions on controversial subjects but has not let it affect her. On the streets of London, she wore jeans and a sweatshirt and topped it off with a long jacket which made her top most layer look polished and chic. She carried a trendy small bag with her in red with a lip colour to match.

Ayesha Omar

Ayesha Omar has cemented her position as one of the best dressed actresses of Pakistan. This position is hers by sheer dedication of experimenting with her looks and willingness to try out new things. Though you may be seeing a lot of images of Ayesha in ethnic wear these days - she’s shooting a new season of hit sitcom Bulbulay - here she wears a bright orange pajama top and pants with strappy heels and pulled back sleek hair. Ayesha wears her clothes and not the other way around!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry introduced the royal baby to the world for the first time this past week. For the occasion, Meghan wore a sleeveless white Grace Wales Bonner dress featuring button detailing on the front and a belt at the waist. We liked that she wore something that defined her bump and in that daring colour, or lack thereof rather. Unlike previous royals, whose post-delivery appearance flaunted a flat stomach, we’re delighted that Meghan looked more real. Seen here with Prince Harry, who opted for a suit.

Amna Ilyas

Amna has been making numerous public appearances for the promotion of two of her upcoming films - Ready, Set, No and Baaji - and we have to say that the former model is a delight for her sartorial choices. Amna was a breath of fresh air in the trendiest colour these days: yellow. She’s flaunting the best way to mix prints; stripes and a summery floral print, which always results in some fashion fun. The model and actress let her hair down for this casual chic look.
