Flash Your Style! Pakistani women going places

Writer-producer Asma Nabeel, who shot to fame with last year’s socially relevant drama serial Khaani, was chosen as one of the speakers at this year’s See It Be It program as part of Cannes Lions 2019. Having written multiple scripts for the small screen, she shared her own story of surviving cancer. "Today, I would like to admit that I feel blessed and I am thankful to Allah for giving me so much pain because without this pain I would never have realized how strong I am and I would never have stood on such prestigious stage to share my success story with the world," she shared on her social media after the event.

 

Kiran Malik

Dubai based model turned actor Kiran Malik, who made her big screen debut with Shazia Ali Khan’s Pinky Memsaab, attended the recently concluded 21st UK Asian Film Festival (UKAFF) where Pinky Memsaab was screened at the Closing Reception. The film was also honoured with the ‘Best Picture’ (Audience Choice) trophy with the cast and writer-director Shazia Ali Khan in attendance. Kiran, who essays the key role of writer-socialite Mehr, opted for a white Zaheer Abbas outfit with styling by Manahyl and makeup by Toni Cameron.

 

Hajra Yamin

Hajra Yamin, who essays the titular role of Pinky in Pinky Memsaab that released in December last year, was also present the at UK Asian Film Festival to represent her film. She has been nominated for the ‘Best Actress’ category at the Lux Style Awards 2019 for her effortless performance in the film. For the closing reception, Hajra went for a traditional outfit by Ansab Jahangir while she was styled by Aneela Murtaza.
