BEAUTY STATION! Cannes Film Festival: 7 beauty looks that ruled

Whether movie buffs like it or not, the Cannes Film Festival has become a playground not just for film and fashion, but also for beauty. The fest sees some truly incredible makeup accompanying the ensembles on celebrities from all across the world. This year’s Cannes had Pakistanis glued to their screens because Mahira Khan was representing L’Oreal and her beauty and fashion had fans waiting for each and every look with bated breath. Many celebrities have also visibly upped their red carpet beauty game this year. Here are some of our favorites.

Mahira Khan

Mahira Khan’s outfit choices may divide people but one thing is for certain is that the fresh faced bare minimum makeup look does wonders for her. With skin so great, it makes sense to keep it young and fresh in the makeup department. She paired her lavender dress with open tresses and a barely there pink lip.

Kristen Stewart

Wherever she goes, Kristen epitomizes cool-girl chic. Although the pictures circulating on the internet are mostly of the star ditching the high heel rule by holding hers in her hand on the carpet, her beauty look was what caught our eye. The Twilight star stunned with her teddy boy quiff hairstyle and teamed it with a super bold yet elegant eye - a perfect red carpet combination.

Lupita Nyong’o’

Nyong’o’s red carpet choices always leave us doing double takes. She wore an angelic, white gown with a high neckline but paired it with a modern-bouffant style high ponytail that showed off her naturally kinky-curly hair. Her makeup featured a berry toned lipstick and eye shadow with bold eyeliner - the perfect intense beauty look with a feminine and dreamy outfit.

Sonam Kapoor

The new bride, Sonam Kapoor was perfect in her first red carpet look at the Cannes red carpet. In an Indian inspired Ralph and Russo ensemble, she kept her makeup look simple with kohl-rimmed eyes and a nude pink lip colour. Her hair stole the show when viewed from the back as it featured a parandi by Amrapali, worn on a low ponytail.

Aishwarya Rai

Bollywood beauty, Rai wore a butterfly inspired gown by Michael Cinco in her most outstanding look. The dress was glamorous on its own but sported an equally eye-catching beauty look. The usual straight hair with a center-parting was paired with a wing eye and accentuated with specks of purple glitter. This is a look that’s trending across runways right now and can easily be copied at home!

Deepika Padukone

With a gown as dramatic as Deepika’s at Cannes, a beauty look can make or break for the night. We think Padukone nailed it with her textured top knot hairdo which was very unlike her usual slick buns. What caught our attention was her pink and black smoky wing eye and the complementing nude lip colour.

Kendall Jenner

Jenner paired her tulle gown with a creamy beige lip. This kept the focus on her eyes which were minimal too but featured a flawless winged liner, which was accentuated by a swipe of taupe eye shadow. It was a perfect summer red carpet look!a
