This week’s style serving comes from the Cake trailer launch and Ayesha Omar and Blake Lively’s New York Fashion Week looks. Cake has been doing social media promotions in the right doses and putting out witty content so its trailer launch had our hopes up. Did Adnan Malik, Sanam Saeed and Aamina Sheikh match up in the sartorial department? On the other side of the world, NYFW may be where the fashion calendar starts but did the looks off the runway do it justice? Read on…
There may have been a red carpet rolled out but red carpets, at least the ubiquitous local ones, don’t necessarily need a suit. In fact, we’d rather that our celebs stayed away from them once in a while. We liked Adnan Malik’s casual cool look, with his orange flowery shirt peeking out from under his blue suede button; making a nice colour combination. The white Gucci sneaker’s, one can’t go wrong with!
Sanam picked a great silhouette for her tall and lean body type. This flora and fauna Sania Maskatiya jumpsuit was occasion appropriate without being too over the top for a trailer launch. Her pulled back hair and minimal makeup offset by rustic eyes was the perfect addition to the look. The mustard pointed shoes added a glorious pop of colour to the ensemble.
As Maybelline’s brand ambassador at NYFW, Ayesha has been experimenting with her style and while we loved all her looks, this one has to be our favorite because of the unexpected elements that came together so well. The play on textures with fur + leather along with fishnet stockings under those gorgeous rainbow heels is pretty on point. Her beauty look - crimped hair with red eye shadow – is also doing complete justice to the look.
Blake Lively wore a vibrant red trench coat to the Micheal Kors show at NYFW, having lost all her baby weight and looking as good as ever. Feeling the Valentine’s Day spirit, she wore the trench with a crisp white top that popped up from underneath her collar. She added adorable white stilettos with a bright red heart plastered across the top. Valentine style done right!
