Pictures proliferated on our social media feeds as the week went by. It’s fashion season and there was no shortage of looks but Instep put together a list of the ones that made an impact…for better or for worse.

Rihanna

The designer behind the successful Fenty X Puma collection clearly has an eye for high fashion. She stepped out in hot-of-the-runway apparel, from a curve hugging dress by Off White to an oversized Raf Simons denim shirt. However, the most exciting addition to the look were the white over-the-knee furry boots by Saint Laurent. The boots made their debut last week at the Yves Saint Laurent Paris Fashion Week Show in the French capital.

Ayesha Omar

For the Vivo event in Lahore, Ayesha wore heavily embellished pants by Mahgul, a polka dotted blue top and a black blazer accessorized with a silver bag and an ear and hand cuff. Although a blazer is always a flattering silhouette we found the styling to be slightly off the mark. The shirt inside should’ve ideally been a solid colour and tucked in – our vote goes to maroon. We would’ve lost the clutch and left only the hand cuff on because less is more!

Momina Mustehsan

Making it to the BBC 100 Women list recently, we expected Momina to make a sartorial style statement at this year’s L’Oréal Business Forum in Spain. And she did, on the second day in a gorgeous Ali Xeeshan dress. However, Mustehsan lost marks for styling with her clunky heels and slightly washed out makeup. We loved the tied hair but would’ve added a red lip and pointed heels to the equation.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika generally makes a statement every time she steps out but with this moss green dress, she disappointed a little. Knotted at the hem, not only was the colour of the top a little dull, it didn’t complement the statuesque beauty. It was baggy and the structure due to the position of the hem was anything but flattering. We did like the way she accessorized her outfit with a slim gold watch, bracelet, Chanel espadrilles and Goyard bag.

Kareena Kapoor

Bebo and husband stepped out in two very casual looks for Soha Ali Khan’s birthday bash. She kept her hair tied and wore a Hawaiian tee with boot cut black pants and a black bag. Although it was meant to be casual it left much to be desired. We wish she’d worn a brighter lip colour or tucked the top into her pants.
