Flash Your Style

One of the year’s most anticipated films, Punjab Nahi Jaungi premiered in Karachi on Tuesday and drew the city’s population of TV and film personalities to Nueplex. Two cinema halls were packed with names and faces that one sees on television everyday; it was quite spectacle. And amongst all the star dust, we took up the challenging task of choosing five of our favourite red carpet moments…

Mehwish Hayat

Dressed in an understated moss green dress, Mehwish Hayat looked fresh and on point. The outfit, designed by Fahad Hussayn did her justice as the leading lady of the film. Mehwish Hayat is beautiful and the camera loves her but now that PNJ filming is over, perhaps she can consider reverting to a more natural hair colour.

Urwa Hocane

Always an unconventional dresser, Urwa Hocane owned the red carpet in this Elan hybrid sari. It may have appeared a little OTT compared to Mehwish’s look but then it was a red carpet premiere and the elder Hocane was standout in the film. She earned the right to stand out on the red carpet.

Mawra Hocane

Digging into her Rheson goody bag, Mawra Hocane who came to support "behna," chose one her Rheson outfits for the premiere. Flaunting equal amounts of sheer and nude, the cream coloured ensemble did sort of blend in but then its silhouette was interesting enough for special attention.

Mahira Khan

Simple, white and casual is a look Mahira Khan has taken to quite comfortably this summer and she continued to wear it to the red carpet of Punjab Nahi Jaungi. It suited her well as she looked extremely pretty without in any way over shadowing the leading ladies of the film. We love the tan leather khussas!

Sanam Saeed

One of the most intelligent artistes around, Sanam Saeed made an appearance to support the film and looked lovely in a hand block printed FnkAsia jumpsuit. The ethnic colour palette of the outfit really stood out amidst the range of white and ecrus on display and Sanam’s straight long hair looked terrific as her best accessory.
