Noori give Karachi a night of music

One of the more popular music groups in the country, Noori is always up to something. While the band recently played at the launch of Samsung S8 at the iconic Lahore Fort, it was their performance at the British Council Library in Karachi that had us swooning. Playing at ‘Karachi by Night’ celebration, the band led by brothers Ali Noor and Ali Hamza played a combination of songs including all-time hits ‘Hum Bholay’, ‘Dobara Phir Se’, ‘Suno Key Main Houn Jawan’ and ‘Ooncha Hoon Mein’.

Joined onstage by the likes of Fahad Khan and counting one Jamal Rahman on their technical team, it was a solid performance that had fans, both old and new, singing along throughout the course of the night.

Teefa in Trouble, Cake head to Europe

Two upcoming films that have fans curious (for various reasons) are now heading to Europe to begin their shooting spells.

Teefa in Trouble, which marks Ali Zafar’s grand entry into the fickle world of Pakistani cinema and is being helmed by the masterful Ahsan Rahim went on floors in Lahore. After 42 days of shooting in grueling heat, the cast and crew has wrapped up proceedings in the cultural city and are now heading to London to shoot there.

Another promising venture, the peculiarly titled Cake by director Asim Abbasi is also heading to London. The upcoming film that includes actors Sanam Saeed, Adnan Malik and Aamina Sheikh is set in Karachi and London and offers a "heartfelt look at the realities of life and death, of past and present, of choices and consequences."

Having shot portions of the film in Karachi, the cast and crew of Cake have also moved on to London and will be shooting there in the coming days ahead.
