OYE! Armeena Khan

Having made her big screen debut with a British production called Writhe, Armeena Rana Khan has not looked back. While her debut venture took her to the French Riviera and gave the actress a chance to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival (2013), it was her appearance in the 2015 film, Bin Roye alongside co-stars Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan that elevated her stature as an actor. She followed up Bin Roye with a strong role in Azfar Jafri’s Janaan (alongside Bilal Ashraf and Ali Rehman), which picked up decent reviews and collected big bucks at the box office. She is currently playing the protagonist in an ongoing drama serial called Rasm-e-Dunya. As she gears up for the all-star Yalghaar (in which she is cast as Bilal Ashraf’s love interest) Khan talks to Instep about matters close to her heart.

Her vitals

Age: Never ask a lady her age.

Hometown: Originally: Mississauga. Adopted: Manchester.

Crazy fact #1: I have kid sized feet. Can’t find my shoe size in the shops.

Crazy fact #2: I owned 500 Barbie dolls as a kid.

Thoughts on Pakistani cinema:

Long way to go still.

TV or films?

Films ANY DAY.

Best director to work with:

Sharaz Ali (British Director)

Bilal Ashraf or Ali Rehman:

Ryan Gosling.

Weirdest thing you’ve heard about yourself:

That my accent is fake. That’s just messed up.

You want to be like:

Nobody is perfect so I want to be the best version of myself.

Biggest wish:

To see war and suffering eradicated from the world. It breaks my heart every day.
