Having caught our attention last year with the drama serial Udaari as Paa Imtiaz, British born actor Ahsan Khan has proven once and for all that he can pull of any role he sets his mind on. With an acting career that spans nearly two decades, Khan is someone who believes in having a diversified acting portfolio. After going dark in Udaari as a repulsive pedophile, Khan is looking forward to experimenting with comic roles in this New Year. In fact, 2017 will mark his entry into the post-revival cinema movement with a romantic comedy called Chupan Chupai alongside Neelam Muneer and another light-hearted tale called Rehbra opposite the effervescent Ayesha Omar.

Crazy fact # 1
Whenever I’m bored or slightly stressed, I lock the room, put on loud music and start headbanging and dancing.
Crazy fact # 2
I love to bother the hell out of my kids at times; I go crazy and I make them crazy too.
TV or films?
Both
Best director to work with
Ehtashamuddin, Mohsin Ali and Amin Iqbal. They’re very calm, sensible and nice people.
What difference Udaari brought to your life/career
It helped generate a constructive discussion on the subject of child abuse that caught my attention too. It’s like a campaign now.
Thoughts on Pakistani Cinema
I’m glad we’re experimenting with films & I believe this should go on.
What would be a dream project for you?
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button kind of thing would be my stuff because the margin for acting is huge.
One lesson you learnt from 2016
It is very important to grow mentally and think beyond one’s own self.
New Year resolution
I feel we need to work on our brains, focus on growing internally as a person and prosper as a nation.
