Flash Your Style!

From sunny Madrid to sultry Lahore the world seems abuzz despite the heat. Awards ceremonies, mid-summer launches, Eid collections; there’s been a flurry of activity this last week that’s given us some choice summer inspiration. Instep presents the style stars that hit all the right notes this week.

Suneeta Marshal

Karachi

There are definite perks to being a designer’s muse in fashion. Most veteran models develop long term friendships with the designers they regularly shoot for, which means that their collections in turn become extended wardrobes for the fashionistas (ah, the good life). Model Suneeta Marshal has spent her life in front of the camera and on the ramp, which means it’s only natural that she gets to dress in the chicest collections that come out. We spotted her sporting a taupe Pink Tree Company cape while out and about recently and loved the sleek look. While the hair and accessorizing was on point, it was the hint of orange peeking through her cape that really sold us.

Fawad Khan

Madrid

Seems like Fawad Khan is on a trip to conquer the globe and won’t rest until he has the world swooning at his feet. Pictures of him getting mobbed by fans in Madrid surfaced as soon as the actor landed for the IIFA awards, part of which he was hosting with none other than magic maker Karan Johar. The actor doesn’t need much more than his charming smile to disarm audiences but his style choices during his Spanish stay were worthy of praise. The look we loved best was the classic black tuxedo he wore on the main IIFA awards night. Khan looked dapper in black, giving some of Bollywood’s biggest names a run for their money. We couldn’t be more proud.

Adele

Glastonbury

If you haven’t heard of Glastonbury you should probably google it. It’s an English town that is transformed each year by an influx of musicians and aficionados who come together, often under terrible British weather, to stand through hail and high shine to participate in a five day music festival. This year, though festival goers were accosted by torrential rains that turned the ground to sludge, British sensation Adele stood out among the plethora of performing artists for her incredible set, humour and on stage presence. The crooner’s style choices were noteworthy too. Her black maxi with tribal embroidery complemented her easy, bohemian personality and strangely reminded us of the mirrored Sindhi jackets that are part of our crafts heritage.

Zoe Viccaji

Astor

You may think that celebrities only fly out of the country for their vacations but we’re happy to report that they just as happily frequent Pakistan’s magnificent north. We’ve seen images of Ali Zafar in Nathiagali, Hadiqa Kiyani in Kaghan and most recently saw Zoe Viccaji trekking up Astor to Rama Lake. "After a one and a half hour trek up steep slopes and through patches of hard snow we finally reached Rama Lake in Astor," she wrote. "It was worth it!" We love the casual and upbeat style that she carries, very appropriate for roughing it out while retaining an element of coolness.
