It’s been a strange week for style in this part of the world

It’s been a strange week for style in this part of the world. Icy cold temperatures have hit Lahore, pushing spring back a month or two. Karachi has been enjoying some crisp, sunny days and evenings but there hasn’t been enough activity to get the fashion lot excited. The Pond’s Miracle Gala did heat the red carpet up a bit but we’ve celebrated that already. Karachi Eat enjoyed a different kind of heat and all left was weddings galore! Here’s what we managed to cherry pick from the week that was…

Asin and Rahul Sharma wedding

Wearing: Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Raghuvendra Rathore

Asin, who you’ll remember best from Gajini and ‘Hookah Bar’ tied the knot this week and she looked spectacular in a traditional ethnic ensemble designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Her beau wore Raghuvendra Rathore. The bride changed several stately outfits for different ceremonies and our other favourite was the white Vera Wang gown she wore for her Church wedding.

Sanam Saeed and Mohib Mirza

Wearing: Personal wardrobes

With Lahore suffering a brand new ice age, it wasn’t surprising to see Sanam and Mohib bundled up for the music launch of Bachaana. While they may not be flaunting any brands, we personally admire the casual appeal of their dos and the confidence with which they’re carrying them. Sanam and Mohib are inherently two very stylish people and that reflects in all their wardrobe choices.

Mawra Hocane

Wearing: Feeha Jamshed

Flash-2

With Sanam Teri Kasam only a week away to its release, Mowra has been busy promoting her debut film to her best possible capacity. Her sartorial choices have been smart. Here she’s seen in a loose Feeha Jamshed printed jacket, paired with a solid black jumpsuit. We like the way she’s kept her hair loose and one-sided and we love her sharp heels. The only thing letting the look down is the somber expression!

Maya Ali

Wearing: Nomi Ansari

Maya Ali is undoubtedly the prettiest young thing on TV these days and it’s good to see her enjoying the spotlight to the maximum. She’s wearing a traditional Nomi Ansari outfit here; it’s contemporary in its colour palette but conventional in its style and frankly, we love the combination. We can’t figure out the lowers - Dhaka Pajama or Dhoti - but we give her full marks for carrying it off so well!
