When hair met wardrobe

The Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe campaign is what fuels styles and funky looks at London Fashion Week and Karachi was lucky to have that international feel at the Fashion Pakistan Week as the HMW campaign came to town with Autumn/Winter trends in hairstyling. Catch up on what works for the young and edgy this season…

Rocking a Glamorous Hairdo

Maliha Aziz was given a more classic and sophisticated half up-do that may appear very old school but is on trend at fashion weeks all across the globe. The hair on the crown was given a voluminous puff to complement her midnight blue bejeweled outfit while the rest of the hair was left loose to keep it soft, feminine and yet glamorous.

The Toni & Guy Volume Plumping Whip gives your hair enough body and bounce without making it looking it too greasy and holds it in place all night long. Use sparingly and run it down from your roots till the ends on towel-dried hair.

It was over the top, quite literally, but made an unforgettable statement. Sarwat Gillani’s glamorous, windswept, messy up do had every one clicking INSTA-Glam at the T&G lounge.

"My inspiration for Sarwat came from Gwen Stefani because nobody does all-out glamour better than her," Saeeda explains. "I brushed her hair into an unapologetically high-rise quaff to give head-turning volume created with a Volume Plumping Whip and then I gave the roots oodles of lift and left the front section high for a super-sexy finish using a T&G Moisturising Shine Spray and Firm Hold Hairspray, giving a bold powerful statement – ‘You’re not taking her out, she is taking you out for dinner tonight’."

Curating the Classic

Actor-director Adnan Malik was modern-day sophistication at Fashion Pakistan Week as he stepped in, styled in a slick-back hairdo perfect for the no-frills, no-frippery man.
Day-1-Adnan-Malik-Classic-L

"My inspiration for Adnan’s classic look came from James Bond and Tom Ford – slick sides, side-parted restrained hair and a perfect shine," says Saeeda. "The look was created by using the Heat Protection Spray to protect hair from the heat that follows drying. For the sleek, shiny gloss, I used a Shine Gloss Serum and my support product was the Men’s Pomade to hold the hair in its place."

Toni & Guy Heat Protection Mist should be your go-to product for protection against damage from blow-drying and straightening. Apply it on towel-dried hair prior to styling.

Day-1-Sadaf-Zarrar-Classic-
Wearing an equally classic style, blogger Sadaf Zarrar looked chic in stark simplicity. Sharp side-parted sleek hair on one end (high in shine) and swept back, loose sections on the other summed up her ultra-polished look. The minimal hair complemented the decadent make-up.

Toni & Guy Shine Gloss Serum is a lightweight formula that gets rid of any unwanted frizz in your hair giving it a smooth shine. Just 2 to 3 pumps on your palms and a rub along your hair’s length would do the trick.

High on Drama

Blogger Faiza Lakhani also sported a creative casual look, created for the T&G lounge by Mandviwalla. Matted down from the crown with intricate braids on the sides and beachy, textured, tousled loose ends to give a dramatic but casual finish, Faiza’s look was as organic as her choice of outfit on the day – earthy and natural.

Day-2-Zoe-Casual-Look

Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray adds texture and body to hair and avoids making your hair look limp and flat when left natural.

Less is more most of the time but going casual doesn’t mean letting go of creativity. Saeeda whipped up an artfully wild look for Zoe Viccaji adding creative elements with the braids but at the same time giving it a casual appeal.

"My inspiration for Zoe came from the street culture of the ’80s and the Mohawk so I fused that with the rock chic look of today with inspired braids that would make her feel comfortable in her skin," Saeeda explained. "I created her look using the T&G Sea Salt Texturising Spray to help me create effortless texture and natural movement in her hair while making it appear well-nourished. The Flexible Hold Hairspray helped to mould the hair and keep it strong."

Apply Toni & Guy Flexible Hold Hairspray evenly over dried and styled hair to hold the hair in place while giving it enough room to breathe and move.
