It was a good omen for Pakistan cricket that Pakistan women did not disappoint the nation ultimately qualifying for the ICC Women’s World Cup after winning their all five matches in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2025 held in Lahore this month.

Pakistan women’s cricket team finally completed their flawless campaign in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2025 with a comprehensive seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh, sending a powerful message to their future World Cup opponents.

The hosts maintained their perfect record in the tournament with their fifth consecutive win, showcasing an impressive all-round performance that has established them as a formidable force heading into the main event.

With this victory, Pakistan have emerged as one of the strongest teams from the qualifier tournament, serving notice to their competitors ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. Their unbeaten qualification campaign, characterized by clinical bowling performances and consistent batting, suggests they will be a team to watch when the main tournament begins.

Sidra topped the batting charts for Pakistan in the ICC Women’s CWC Qualifier 2025, scoring 225 runs from five matches at an average of 45, including three half-centuries.

19-year-old Shawaal, who made her international comeback following a shoulder injury which she sustained in December 2023, featured in two matches during Pakistan’s successful campaign in the ICC Women’s CWC Qualifier.

Later on West Indies secured victory over Thailand but despite that they missed the qualification. Windies women’s this emphatic win wasn’t enough to secure their World Cup qualification.

Despite chasing down Thailand’s total of 166 with a remarkable 235 balls to spare, the Caribbean side narrowly missed the net run-rate requirement needed to overtake Bangladesh’s +0.639 and claim the final qualification spot.

Meanwhile Pakistan’s unbeaten campaign in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2025 saw four players honoured in prestigious line-up of the event named by the International Cricket Council.

In a remarkable recognition of their dominance at the Qualifier, four key players from Pakistan’s unbeaten squad have been named in the Team of the Tournament, with Fatima Sana appointed captain of the elite XI.

Besides Fatima other Pakistan players picked for the ICC WC Qualifier team are Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sandhu and Sadia Iqbal, reflecting Pakistan’s commanding performance throughout the tournament as they clinched five consecutive wins to book their ticket to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup later this year.

The team was selected by a panel of expert commentators including Andrew Leonard, Marina Iqbal, Kainat Imtiaz and Joel Manning, who considered individual brilliance, match-winning contributions, and consistency during the Qualifier.

The Team of the Tournament includes three players from the West Indies, two each from Bangladesh and Scotland.

Bangladesh’s Sharmin Akhter and wicketkeeper Nigar Sultana, West Indies’ Hayley Matthews, Chinelle Henry and Aaliyah Alleyne and Scotland’s Kathryn Bryce and Katherine Fraser were acknowledged for their standout performances.

Rabeya Khan was named as the 12th player, thanks to her six wickets and key role in her side’s qualification journey.
