Showcased at the Museum of Modern Art, New York Fashion Week featured a multitude of designers and collections, both established and new. Today, we look at American designer Tory Burch’s Autumn collection and explore why she is distinguished not only in the United States but also globally.

Tory Burch’s Autumn 2025 collection revitalizes American sportswear by putting the spotlight on the notion of soft power dressing. This collection captures the spirit of perseverance and comfort, especially during challenging times.

“When women get dressed, they want to obviously look chic and beautiful, but they also want to feel powerful,” Burch said backstage. “That’s something I spent a lot of time thinking about because I think women are the answer.”

“It was an exploration of how to take something familiar and make it more intriguing. Sportswear is an American legacy, and I wanted to rethink its structure and composition,” she shared post-show.

From where they sat, guests were treated to a large video screen showing distorted views of the catwalk; it was an experience of surrealism, something out of a movie screening.

The soundtrack—a techno beat mixed with laughter—and the atmosphere wavered between jubilant party fun and eerily troubling. “It leaves you questioning—is she laughing or crying?” Burch noted with a knowing smile, referring to the models in the showcase.

Among the guests present were American actresses Amanda Seyfried and Alexandra Daddario, British actress Jodie Turner-Smith, and American singer Ciara.

The collection has proved to be yet another testament to Burch‘s talent for merging sophistication with comfort, showing that sportswear can be both fierce and chic.

It is her keen sense of reinventing that allows her to make a significant mark in the fashion world, connecting with audiences around the globe.
