The commotion in the bazaar made it obvious that Eid-ul-Fitr was around the corner – there were no two ways about it. Even the high prices didn’t dampen the spirits this time as people flocked to markets for some last-minute shopping. All pretty things, jewelry and trinkets, were right there for the shoppers to appreciate and pick from. Makeshift stalls selling bangles, henna and footwear were propped up all over the city. It seemed that the people were ready to dress to the nines in the spirit of the occasion.
